MOVING TO NEW SITE

I just wanted to let everyone know that I am not missing, instead I have ventured into the wonderful world of my own website!

http://www.craftyartistkc.com is now live. Although it is not completed, I am slowly transitioning my posts over to the new site. Please please please go check it out and subscribe via email. I will be adding a lot more ways to follow me, but for now, please subscribe via email.

Sea Turtle Prompt

Well, I decided for the new year that I was going to be doing random prompts so that I can think outside the box more. So, with the help of my dear friend, Sea Turtle was born.

One of these days I will learn to take better pictures of my art that is larger than 8.5×11. This one is 11×14.

Yet another view, and one more up close for good measure.

Joey’s weekly challenge #135

I’m always amazed at what Joey comes up with for the challenges and I absolutely love doing anything with circles. In this challenge, found here, you can see that part of the challenge was also doing three tangle patterns. Disco, Drogon, and Msst. None of  these have I attempted before, so the whole thing was challenging.

Flower circles

So, this piece started out very weird. I had no clue what was going to form from it. As with all my pieces, I let my mood take flight, adapting the piece in many ways. What I drew in pencil isn’t even close to what the final product came to be.

I am pleased with this piece and very excited to share. It’s in my journal so it’s fairly small, about 5×7, and the details were done with a .01 micron pen.

My zentangle journal.

Well, I got this journal in the mail and I am excited about the creativity that will be stored in here. There are two different types of journals you can get. One of them has strings on the pages and the other one, which is the one I got, is blank.

I also got the micron pen kit which included pens of different sizes. I’ve already implemented these in my other art. I have yet to use the graphite pencil and the blending stick, but I’m hoping to incorporate that soon.

I am always looking for new products on the market, so if you know of any you would like for me to look into, I would be happy to do that for you. The price for these things was a little more than I like to spend but the quality seems to match it at first glance. Now to see how long the pens last and how durable the journal is. But only time will tell.
